Uplift North Hills Preparatory is one of only 225 IB continuum schools worldwide authorized to offer all three International Baccalaureate (IB) Programs of education, and only one of 66 such schools in all of North, Central, and South America.  Some of our highlights from the 2014 – 2015 school year are as follows:

  • UNHP High School was rated a Gold Medal School by US News and World Reports and the #24 Most Challenging High School in the Nation by the Washington Post.  Our ranking on both lists put us in the top 1% of high schools nationally. 
  • Not only did UNHP High School receive the "Met Standard" designation from the Texas Education Agency, we also received a distinction designation in every category for which we were eligible.  We received distinctions for Academic Achievement in Reading/English Language Arts; Academic Achievement in Mathematics; Academic Achievement in Science; Academic Achievement in Social Studies; Top 25 Percent: Closing Performance Gaps; and Postsecondary Readiness.  Additionally, we are one of only 26 school districts and charters in the state to earn an additional District Distinction for Postsecondary Readiness.
  • The Class of 2015 earned $15,040,581 in scholarships and free money.This is the highest amount earned by a senior class at UNHP in the school's history. 
  • Seniors in the Class of 2015 have been accepted into over 120 colleges and universities, including Duke, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, West Point, Georgia Institute of Technology, New York University, University of Virginia, California Institute of Technology, and Johns Hopkins University.  
  • 12 scholars from the Class of 2015 were recognized as National Merit Finalists or National Merit Commended Scholars, comprising 11% of the senior class.  
  • We had 3 National Hispanic Recognition Finalists.
  • UNHP scholars in grades 9 - 12 took 760 Advanced Placement (AP) exams in 14 different subject areas.
  • UNHP IB seniors took 457 IB exams in 14 different subject areas. 
  • 58% of the Class of 2015 and 64% of the Class of 2016 are pursuing the full IB Diploma.
  • 2015 EOC pass rates were all 95% or higher in Biology, English I, English II, and US History. 
  • 91% of our 9th grade scholars have a College Ready Composite Score on the Spring Explore exam
  • Our average spring Explore and Plan scores surpass the College Ready benchmark in ALL subject areas AND for the composite score. 
  • We launched a partnership with the Presidential Service Award so that our scholars can be recognized for impacting their communities through service.
  • Throughout the year, we brought in over 10 speakers and groups to address our US students and their diverse interests during advisory/flex. 
  • Our scholars and teachers planned, hosted, and participated in the first ever TEDx Talk at UNHP.
  • We successfully integrated a new format for the MYP Personal Project Expo that allowed parents, teachers, and scholars  in grades 6 - 12 to view and reflect on our 10th graders' projects.
  • New traditions were born with the inaugural Boom Baby Smackdown Faculty vs. Student Volleyball game, the first UNHP Theater Trip to New York City, and the first 12th Grade Walk during Senior Appreciation Week.
  • We successfully implemented a 6 - 12 Community Service Project for LIMBS International.  Through popcorn sales and the AMP 1 Standup Basketball game, we were able to purchase ELEVEN prosthetics for amputees in developing countries, changing their lives forever!
  • UNHP scholars competed in two Robotics competitions (FIRST and BEST), Academic WorldQuest, and the Harvard Model UN Conference.
  • UNHP scholars advanced to the playoff, district, or regional level of competition in the following 12 UIL events:  Choir, One-Act Play, Cross Country, Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Volleyball, Boys Swimming, Golf, Track, Tennis, Boys Soccer, and Girls Soccer.
  • UNHP scholars advanced to the state level of competition in the following 8 events:  UIL Band, UIL Solo & Ensemble, UIL Girls Swimming, UIL Debate, UIL Academics, HOSA, VASE, and Science Fair.
